The Saudi Arabian Standards Organization (SASO) is a government agency set up by the Royal Decree (No. M / 10) in 1972 for the Department of Commerce. In 1985, at the 58th meeting of the Board of Directors, the introduction of the quality mark system and the conformity certificate issuance system was resolved. . The quality mark system is a system that SASO certifies that the product conforms to the applicable SSA standard for companies in Saudi Arabia. The certificate issuance system is a system in which the SASO mainly inspects the conformity to the imported products, The SSA standard does not cover all products, so it is supposed to comply with the international standard for the item which does not have the corresponding SSA standard.
